The folks over at Pitchfork just added a few more reasons to dig at the lint in your pockets and scrounge up whatever you can to make it through the fences at Union Park this summer.
Canadians aren't just good at hockey, they are also (WARNING: huge over-generalization coming) fantastic performers. The indie darling supergroup that is Broken Social Scene (Brendan Canning, Kevin Drew, Justin Peroff, Charles Spearin, Andrew Whiteman, Sam Goldberg, Jason Collett, David Newfeld, Leslie Feist, Emily Haines, James Shaw, Evan Cranley, Amy Millan, Ohad Benchetrit, John Crossingham, Martin Davis Kinack, Jo-ann Goldsmith, Bill Priddle, Torquil Campbell, Adam Marvy, Lisa Lobsinger, Julie Penner, Jason Tait, Elizabeth Powell) has just been added to the Friday night lineup alongside Modest Mouse and indie hip hop favorite, El-P.
Animal Collective's cute cuddly (I'm assuming) Panda Bear will be going solo on Saturday night - hopefully just as the sun is going down and bringing some much needed shade from the sun that tends to beat down on the crowd every year.
Other Saturday additions are the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Bear in Heaven, Dâm-Funk and The Smith Westerns (who I'm probably most excited to see out of the group).
Sunday has added a group getting a lot of hype these days - Girls, and a couple of psychedelic local bands, Cave and Allá (neither of which I've heard before but that's what's so great about this festival, you learn about a lot of great bands and the DJ sets are usually not to be missed).
