The Dø are a Finnish-French duo who first caught my attention semi-randomly when I stumbled across a video of their song "On My Shoulders" on Vimeo. It was love at first strum. Later, I would find a fantastic remix
on my shoulders from THE DO on Vimeo.
This April, as my early birthday present, their full-length American debut A Mouthful will be out on Sex Degrees Records.
The Dø, (rhymes with "glow") named after the first and last notes of the musical scale, are one of the most talked about new bands in Europe. The duo recently became the first French act to reach #1 in France with an album sung in English. Comprised of French/Finnish vocalist/ guitarist Olivia Merilahti & multi instrumentalist Dan Levy, The Dø, have taken France by storm with their debut release, A Mouthful and have garnered rave reviews across the globe for their unique sound which encompasses everything from indie rock to folk to hip hop to experimental music & soul.
