Miike Snow Brings Something for Everyone

There's something fantastically unique about the band Miike Snow. Perhaps that's what happens with you mix Swedish producers with an NYC songwriter. They've taken hold of a subtle weirdness that combines the flamboyance of the Scissor Sisters, a little Motownish throwback (one of my favorite tracks, "Song for No One") and some Sufjan Stevens if his songs were covered by The Boy Least Likely To. So, yes, hard to describe but in a way that makes you curious to listen to more. There's a blending of styles that gels seamlessly throughout the self-titled album's eleven songs.

"Miike Snow" comes out June 9th on Downtown and is well worth putting down your allowance money for. For a little taste, check out the band's song "Animal" which has been getting tons of love on these here internets.
