Sometimes a band catches you off-guard - they're exactly what you're needing at the moment but you had no idea they existed. That's how it was for Thunderheist and me. I actually vividly remember where I was and what I was doing at the time I first pressed play and the synthesized beats from "Suenos Dulces" pulsated through my ears. I was going through my daily blogs and Hate Something Beautiful had a post on this hiptronic duo along with a few links to their songs. What started off as a boring day trying to find a Myspace survey I hadn't already done turned into a booty-shaking-in-your-Aeron-chair festival of productivity. Yeah that's right, I got my stuff DONE. In style.
Thunderheist is: Isis (MC and foul-mouthed fashionista) and Graham Zilla (beat and taste maker). The two met via happy-accident made possible by the internet. Since their first show in 2006, the pair have been making crowds get sweaty all over the globe. In fact, while touring in London, the pair threw together an impromptu concert in the streets. Mmhmm, go guerilla and you get bananas.
I got to sit down with Isis and Graham to chat, play with our beer bottles and give Isis an opportunity to vent about her Showtime at the Apollo experience.
