You know, you can find lots of great stuff on the internet. Of course there's a lot of crud to sift through but sometimes you stumble upon something that almost makes those countless hours you've wasted in your life worth it. Today I found the following video (below) for a band called Wild Beasts and it was like a light shone down on me from above and got me off the ledge.
At first glance the video actually made me feel a little crazy. All of that picture in picture in a picture stuff hurts the brain - good thing I'm not hungover today otherwise it would've created a scene. Luckily I was able to appreciate the visuals (known as the "Droste Effect" based on, as I'm sure you'll guess, an Escher work). To top it all off, the song is hella good so let's just keep on dancin'.
You've heard it here - the band has a sound that crosses barriers. Feminine and gruff. Danceable balladry. Overall yum. Check out their Myspace page and listen to some of the other goods. You will find a cross between Elbow, Elvis Costello, Scissor Sisters and the Darkness.
